The website Skills for Grownups (http://skillsforgrownups.com/)
offers you links to “how to pages” for stuff that everybody else seems to know
how to do, and you’re afraid to ask about—removing a stain, reading a map,
driving a stick-shift, setting up a budget.
It’s a clear, uncluttered list. You won’t find “how to eat a
grapefruit at a formal breakfast without squirting your tablemate in the eye”—but
you will find a section on table manners.
Each topic is linked to a different website, with good,
direct, non-commercial advice.
