Shakespearean Shenanigans

Come one, come all to Ye Olde Shakespeare conference! Organized by Dr. Philip Collington in conjunction with his senior seminar for fall 2013, the focus for this year is on Shakespeare's comedies.

Niagara University students and their topics will include:
  • Kendyl Litwiller on the Braggart Soldier as Comic Type in Shakespeare
  • Angela Loveland on Cinematic Versions of Beatrice from Kenneth Branagh to Joss Whedon
  • Addison Marino on Stereotyping Shylock and Big Jim in Merchant of Venice and Huck Finn
  • Andrea Nicolia on Rings and Courtship in Shakespearean Comedy
  • Andrew Pendergast on the Erosion of Masculinity in All's Well that Ends Well 
We'll also have a guest speaker, Leslie Nickerson, Ph.D. candidate from the University at Buffalo, presenting her paper "She Wears the Breeches: Cross-Dressing, Disguise and Identity in Twelfth Night."
  • Time:  Tuesday, November 19, 2013 • 4:20 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Place:  Dunleavy Hall Auditorium (Dunl 127)
  • Invited:  All Niagara University students, faculty, staff, friends and interested souls, invited to hear all or some of the presentations. Admission is free! There will be food!
