The hashtag. It entered our vocabulary in 2007, and has now
achieved permanent status in our lexicon with Twitter’s IPO. (That is, Twitter
has just become a publicly traded company on the New York Stock exchange—you can
own a piece of a tweet!) As of this writing, the price of Twitter stock seems
to be holding steady—although investors were spooked by the mess Facebook made
of it a little over a year ago. In a nutshell, Twitter is here to stay.
