Should you use a YouTube video to promote yourself, perhaps in addition to a traditional resume? I don't know; it's a thought.
But I wanted to share today's clip with you because of a detail that appears at the end. These two guys filmed "hours of footage." They edited and condensed to a video of 1 minute, 44 seconds. So let's assume they filmed 3 hours (I'm probably low-balling; it's an educated guess, since the blog post doesn't say "a couple of hours").
Their video runs 104 seconds. They collected 10,800 seconds worth of film. That's a ratio of over 100 seconds of material filmed to 1 second of material actually included in the clip.
The take-away? Getting a job takes time. Spend the time to polish and perfect your presentation. Don't skimp; don't put in "good enough" effort.
