Student loan debt is probably something you're trying really hard not to think about right now. Nationally, student loan debt is starting to make its way to the top of the charts in political debates. Economists are starting to worry seriously about how the numbers are going to impact everyone in the next few decades, even years. It ain't pretty.
You may not care about the big numbers right now--only your own numbers. Here's a timely post on how to respond if you fall behind the "grace period" for repaying those loans. Number one rule: don't simply blow it off. Stay in touch with lenders; show good faith, even if you can't pay on schedules that were formulated when the economy was booming.
