Ed 2010 (http://www.ed2010.com/), one of my favorite sources for information about magazine and publishing jobs, how to get them, internships, and similar stuff of interest to English majors, has tweeted a stellar opportunity.
Essence magazine has a paid internship to offer (http://Essence.com). See the information about the internship at http://www.ed2010.com/jobs/whisperjobs/2012/09/essence-com-editorial-internship.
This black women's interest/focus magazine has been around for a long, long time. In fact, if you visit my office, you can see a poster from their 1985 "15th year anniversary," a lovely poster by Varnette Honeywood, with Gillette sponsoring that poster give-away. It's a bit tattered around the edges -- I was in grad school when I got it.
